I graduated with my Master’s degree in accounting and became a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina in 2004. I started out as an auditor with McGladrey & Pullen, now RSM. I later went into industry, where I have served as a Controller or above in manufacturing, non-profit, services, retail, and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. For the last several years, I have been working in consulting, serving as a fractional Controller and fractional VP of Finance for several pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

During my professional career, I have worked on a wide variety of tasks, such as:

~ Company start-up with full build out of accounting function and department,

~ Mergers and a reverse merger,

~ Systems implementation and systems optimization (multiple times moving clients to NetSuite and assisting with NetSuite optimization),

~ Revenue recognition and grant reporting,

~ Design and implementation of efficient, effective internal controls with minimal impact on operations,

~ Company wind-down and dissolution,
